This tutorial will discuss the Options for archive summary page for Kinetic. As with all template options, enter the serendipity admin panel and select "Manage Styles" in the left sidebar. Options are numbered below for tutorial clarity, but are not actually numbered in the Theme/Style options page.

The Archive Summary page is viewed when visitors navigate to older -> View Topics from the archives sidebar plugin.

1a) Show original post timestamp. [select]
Timestamp corresponding to when the entry is first created.

    Always: The timestamp will always be displayed.
    Never: The timestamp will never be displayed
    When not showing updated: The timestamp will only be displayed if the updated timestamp is not displayed.

1b) Original post timestamp format. [select]
The original post format may be dateformatting, such as Thursday, January 1, 2009, or expressed in words as elapsed time, such as "3 days ago" or "10 minutes ago".

    Dateformatting: Always use dateformatting string as specified below.
    Words Always: Always use elapsed time in words
    Words until threshold: Use words until Creation Timestamp Format Threshold is reached, then revert to Dateformatting.

1c) Dateformatting (http://php.net/strftime). [input]
Formats original post time/date according to locale settings. The default is %A, %B %e. %Y which translates to:

  • full weekday name according to the current locale followed by a comma and a space
  • full month name according to the current locale followed by a space
  • day of the month as a decimal number followed by a period and a space
  • year as a decimal number including the century

2a) Show updated timestamp if entry has been updated. [select]
Timestamp corresponding to when the entry was last updated. An entry is not considered updated unless the grace period has been exceeded.

    Always: The updated timestamp will always be displayed.
    Never: The updated timestamp will never be displayed.
    Update Duration Period: The updated timestamp will be displayed until update Duration Period has elapsed.

2b) Updated timestamp format. [select]

    Dateformatting: Always use dateformatting string as specified below.
    Words Always: Always use elapsed time in words
    Words until threshold: Use words until Updated Timestamp Format Threshold is reached, then revert to Dateformatting.

2c) Dateformatting (http://php.net/strftime). [input]
Formats updated time/date according to locale settings. The default is %B %e. %Y - %I:%M %p which translates to:

  • full month name according to the current locale followed by a space
  • day of the month as a decimal number followed by a period and a space
  • year as a decimal number including the century followed by a space, dash and second space
  • hour as a decimal number using a 12-hour clock followed by a colon
  • minute as a decimal number followed by a space
  • Uppercase `am' or `pm' according to the given time value, or the corresponding strings for the current locale.

3) Show author name. [yes/no]
Show author name. Author name is also a link to all entries for the author.

4) Show category name(s). [yes/no]
Show category name(s). All category names will be listed separated by a comma.

5) Show comment count and link. [yes/no]
Show comment count and link to entry's comments.

6) Show trackbacks count and link. [yes/no]
Show trackback count and link to entry's trackbacks.
