Configuration: Settings for all navigation links

This tutorial will discuss the Settings for all navigation links. As with all template options, enter the serendipity admin panel and select "Manage Styles" in the left sidebar. Options are numbered below for tutorial clarity, but are not actually numbered in the Theme/Style options page.

Kinetic provides three different navigation bars - two at the top, and one at the bottom of each page. Each navigation bar is configured separately. The top two navigation bars can be configured with sub-navigation links. The third navigation bar, located in the page footer, does not support sub-navigation links.

All navigation links use zero-based numbering. A navigation bar defined as having five links will be link #0, link #1, link #2, link #3, and link #4. The screen shot below demonstrates the first navigation bar, link #0 with a hypothetical 2 sublinks:

1) Link text [input]
Enter the text to display for the navigation item.

2) Full URL of the link [input]
This is the full URL to the link. Links to pages within the sites, such as categories, static pages, etc, should always include the full http path to properly assign the class of the current page.

3) Open URL in new window/tab. Not recommended. [yes/no]
While opening links in new targets (ie, target="_blank") is generally not recommended, this option does provide the ability to accomplish this behavior should it be deemed absolutely necessary.

4) Number of Subnavigation links [input]
Enter the quantity of subnavigation links for the main link item. Subnavigation links will appear below the primary navigation link when hovered (often referred to as "suckerfish" navigation). If this quantity is change, the template options should be saved to display the sub-navigation link configuration options detailed in item 5 and 6 below.

5a) Link text of sublink #0 [input]
Enter the text to display for the sub-navigation item.

5b) Full URL of sublink #0 [input]
This is the full URL to the sub-link.

5c) Open URL in new window/tab (not recommended) for sublink #0 [yes/no]
Option to open sub-link in blank target.

6) Additional sub-links
Additional options for each sub-link
